Take a menu from your favorite restaurant in Norman and pair it down to only three items you feel people should order (ex: one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert / one drink, one app, one entree / three drinks / one drink and two entrees, etc.).

People say that the reason McDonald’s was able to get so popular was because their original menu had minimal choices: burgers, fries, and shakes. I would say this is one of the reasons I really enjoy Raising Canes. Chicken tenders, fries, toast, sauce (the cole slaw is bunk–always trade it for extra toast). Sure, as American diets get more complex, choice might be a good thing, but, just a bit, let’s pretend that the restaurants we love only cater to us by serving what we love.

  • The Menu That Matters (Audrey Gililland)

I decided to give Seven47’s menu a makeover by only adding the appetizer, entree, and drink that matters (a.k.a. the best food and drink in my opinion). The tutorial that helped me the most during this challenge was the Instructor Tutorial. I first made the background black to match their logo and website (I also don’t […]

  • The New Girl in Town (Maddy Payne)

For this assignment, I had to redesign a menu from our favorite restaurant in Norman and pair it down to three items I felt people should order. I decided to go with Victoria’s, the pasta shop on Main st., because I love carbs and this particular restaurant serves a lot of them. For the menu, …

  • InDesign Challenge Bank (Layout)

Wrap Text Around an Image challenge- This challenge was awful. I’ve spent nearly 4 hours trying to figure out why the text wrap tool wont work so this is where I got. Though I did follow the steps and almost every time had to go back and try everything again, I was not successful at … Continue reading “InDesign Challenge Bank”

  • Introducing: The New and Improved Fuzzy’s (Taylor Britt)

If you are an OU student and love Mexican food, then you know about Fuzzy’s Taco Shop. Fuzzy’s is located on campus corner and is a campus favorite. Their late night hours and cheap prices make them highly favorable to college students, including myself. It is perfect for a fast and cheap lunch or dinner, …

  • Order Up! (My blog)

Today was a HUGE experience for me. I am no where close to knowing what I am doing indesign, but today Epic Pops got a brand new menu and I’m counting that as a win in my book! I found the assignment to be relatively easy with the assistance of your tutorial without  that I would […]

  • There’s a New Menu in Town (This Must be the Place)

I went with coriander for this one, the easiest thing was picking the menu items. I was wanting to spice it up a bit, but struggled a bit adding elements past what was shown in the tutorial.

Overall I think it turned out alright. InDesign definitely took a little while to get used to and was a little awkward at first. I think I just need to understand the program a bit more and with a little more practice I think it could end up being a useful tool.

  • The Minimalist (My Blah’g)

I’m a simple man, I see pizza, I eat pizza. Forget what you know about Dominoes, Pizza Hut, or anything other big name pizza joint. Pizza Shuttle is the only one for me. Name another pizza place open till 2:00 a.m. on the weekdays and 3:00 a.m. on the weekends. Thats right, its only pizza … Continue reading The Minimalist

  • The Mont Makeover (Drew’s News)

Is it fair to say I love The Mont? Not only am I lucky enough taste their yummy queso every week, but I recently turned 21 and I am enjoying The Swirl more than ever. This assignment challenged me because I had to decide what restaurant I was going to choose and I had to […]

  • The Perfect Meal (caffeine encounters )

When I was a kid, I spent more money on office supplies to decorate my lemonade stand sign than I ended up making selling lemonade. Needless to say, I was looking forward to this assignment. My favorite meal is one I get at Louie’s. It’s very odd: fried green beans, a chicken sandwich and sweet … Continue reading The Perfect Meal

  • A New Menu (Carter Skeen)

This InDesign challenge bank was a bit tougher than the other one I completed which was the text wrap around. I believe since I had more creative freedom on this project it took me more time to decide exactly how I wanted it to look. First, finding the correct picture for the menu took longer … More A New Menu
