I was not looking forward to taking this class. People usually say it is hard, and the thought of learning a bunch of design software sounded pretty daunting. However, after syllabus week most of my worries were put to rest. That was probably because we hadn’t started using any of the software yet….
Fast forward to week three, and we are diving right into Adobe InDesign. Now I’m not saying that my first interaction with InDesign was horrible, but there was a slight learning curve. The basic commands and tools were simple enough to get, but it’s gonna take some time to get really get it down.
One last thing I noticed while learning InDesign was the toll it took on my eyes. I guess it has been a while since I have stared so intently on a computer screen for so long, but my eyes were burning as I walked out of the classroom. Hopefully as I get better at InDesign my eyes will adjust accordingly.
As I was typing that I remembered a sponsored ad I saw on Facebook for glasses that reduce stress on your eyes while staring at a computer screen. It might be time to invest in a pair of those.
